Light

Light has an enormous impact on our emotions, both good and bad. Live in the right kind of light. During the day, keep it light. Open your curtins, use light bolts that stimulate sunlight. At night, eliminate all sources of light, and switch your screens to night mode. 

Scents

According to Frontiers in Psychology, recents studies suggest certain scents can indeed help alleviate certain negative emotions. Citrus for depression, oak leaves and roses for stress, and lavender for anxiety. 

Music

Upbeat music can make you feel more optimistic and positive about life. A slower tempo can quiet your mind and relax your muscles, making you feel soothed while releasing the stress of the day. Music is effective for relaxation and stress management

Gardening

A half-hour of gardening can reduce your stress level, improve your mood and boost your self-esteem, according to a study in the Journal of Health Psychology. 

Travel

A number of studies show that people who travel regularly are happier, healthier, and less-stressed. Travel helps build strong antibodies, boosts the immune system, improves mood and decreases depression. Also, your comfort zone will be challenged. 

Act of Kindness

Doing something nice for others, even small acts of kindness, has been shown to boost mood and create a sense of fulfillment. It can create a positive feedback loop. 

Deep Breathing

Simple deep breathing exercises can help calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and improve overall mental well-being. Mindful breathing techniques are easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

Gratitude

Taking time to reflect on and express gratitude for the positive aspects of your life can improve mental well-being. This can be done through journaling or simply taking a moment each day to acknowledge what you are thankful for.

Connecting with Nature

Spending time in nature has been linked to improved mood, reduced stress, and enhanced overall well-being. This could be as simple as taking a walk in a park or spending time in a garden.

Hands

Use your hands to make something fun, useful, and amazing. Build or create something happy. Get your hands dirty. Decorate a cake, clean your car, repair an item, make a picture frame, paint a wall, plant a plant, make sushi, create a collage, or weed a garden. Hands are linked to peak performance and enhanced creativity. 

Exercise

Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.

Laughter

Laughter is a natural mood booster. It release endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and can even improve cardiovascular health.
